Barbera Campazzi

The Colline Novaresi are the gentle rolling hills north of Novara in Alto Piemonte that have had a noble history of wine making for centuries. The name Campazzi derives from the namesake southern exposure hill on whose slopes grow the Barbera grapes that are used to make this wine. Aged for six months in French oak barrels, this 100% Barbera wine has elegance and structure with an intense perfume, but a delicate touch characteristic of the wines of the Alto Piemonte. Serve at 65°F, and uncork the bottle a half before serving.

Vineyar: Hills of Novara, North Piedmont.

Grape Variety: barbera 100%

Harvest time: beginning of October

Winemaking: selection of grapes on the field, fermentation in still with maceration on the peels for 5 days

Ageing: 6 months in French barriques and tonneaux with batonage on noble lees, at least 6 months in bottle.

Tasting Notes: ruby-red colored with an expressive nose of cherry, small red berreis, vanilla, cocoa and liquorice.

Flavour: Structured and full taste with balance and sweet tannin.
